The aim of the partnership is to provide schools in the Central area with competitive opportunities in a variety of sports, to train
young leaders to support the delivery of the events and to help provide exit routes into the community for those students wanting
to develop their skills further and be part of a community club.
The Sports Partnership is keen to support schools to maximise the effectiveness of the new funding for primary school PE and Sport. We are able to offer a range of support some of this being highlighted below.
A range of competitive opportunities for year 1 to year 6 students, the majority of which feed into the county School Games finals.
Specialist PE Teacher support to work alongside primary school staff to develop confidence in delivering PE and Sport.
A range of leadership courses including the Young Leaders Award, Lunch Time Leaders, Change4Life Leaders and Young Ambassador training.
Support for gifted and talented students to develop and stretch these students either through their practical skills or through their leadership skills.
Support schools to set up Change4Life clubs for students.
Provide additional sports competitions for clusters of primary schools.
Provide additional sporting activities during the holidays for students to engage in.
The Sports Partnership also offers a range of courses for teachers, teaching assistants and coaches providing quality professional development opportunities for schools.
